Rocking with 3 underdog picks here! DDP, Rocky, and Allen. Almost took a 4th in Armfield, but ultimately settled on Katona. Let's get them dogs barking!

Predictions: 5 of 12 Winners, 1 Perfect, 305 Points   |   Tied for 2175th

Strickland vs. Du Plessis
Sean Strickland, TKO, R4
While I'm kind of hoping for a DDP win here, I feel like Strickland takes this. While DDP is likely the more strategic and dynamic fighter, I can't help but feel this is a good style match up for Strickland. I still have questions about Du Plessis' gas tank while Strickland has shown he can keep a pace for five rounds. Du Plessis will likely have his moments, but I think Strickland is going to pressure him back, keep him on the end of his 1-2s (similar to the Till fight in R2) and his teep (Which has been used against DDP effectively before). Interested to see the grappling exchanges, but Strickland has underrated grappling imo. Also, Eblen in his camp makes me more confident in his chances there. I think Strickland is ultimately going to wear out Du Plessis and take over after the first two rounds. Should be an interesting fight.

Pennington vs. Bueno Silva
Mayra Bueno Silva, SUB, R3
Rocky has a good shot, but I like how aggressive MBS can be on the feet. She's also young and hungry, I think she takes this.

Magny vs. Malott
Mike Malott, TKO, R2
Honestly, not super high on Malott yet. He seems skilled but also his last three opponents have been Mickey Gall, Yohan Lainesse, and Adam Fugitt - not great competition. But, Magny is aging now, and there is a clear roadmap to beat him through leg kicks and pressure. Hopefully Malott watched tape on him.

Allen vs. Evloev
Movsar Evloev, DEC
I really rate Allen, but Evloev's wrestling is absolutely elite. I think this may be a frustrating fight for Allen with Evloev constantly chasing the body lock and taking a decision.

Predictions: 6 of 12 Winners, 2 Perfect, 350 Points   |   Tied for 1401st

Strickland vs. Du Plessis
Sean Strickland, TKO, R4
Strickland has a much more conducive pace for five round fights and even if Du Plessis has better cardio now I still think Sean can outlast and drown him in the later rounds.

Pennington vs. Bueno Silva
Mayra Bueno Silva, SUB, R2
I don't give a **** about this fight if I'm being perfectly honest

Magny vs. Malott
Mike Malott, SUB, R2
Magny's a journeyman now but I will say that it's gonna be stupidly difficult for Malott to get into range with a seven inch reach disadvantage. I'd not be surprised by an upset thanks in part to that factor/

Curtis vs. Barriault
Chris Curtis, TKO, R2
Despite his somewhat shakier record compared to some, Curtis is a ******* animal and I will not be surprised at all when Barriault likely gets sent into the shadow realm

Allen vs. Evloev
Movsar Evloev, DEC
This is a tougher one to call but I'm leaning Evloev due to his overall dominance thus far and apparent advantage on the ground.

Katona vs. Armfield
Brad Katona, DEC
Katona looked great in his last fight, rooting for him

I'm really looking forward to this card despite the quality of the fights on paper. Granted a lot of that is because I finally have a couple of days off.

Gordon has a 9% takedown defense and he's a -225 favorite...

Okay? You act like Jimmy Flick isn't 1-7 on takedowns in the ufc.

Gordon also reversed Mokaev on the ground and slammed him. Promise you Flick isn't doing that.

I don't think Flick would be a favorite against any fighter in the UFC. The guy retired, came back 3 years later and looked like he hadn't been training during that window. His standup game is Ben Askren levels.
Gordon is terrible but he actually has hands and survived vs Mokaev and even got a couple of reversals and a decent sub attack of his own in rd2.

Well the bet would be Flick. If that's what you're saying, I agree. Gordon is obviously a spaz and might well do his best to give Flick every chance of finding a sub by rushing into him and moving faster than his own brain can keep up with. If anyone should be on Ritalin it's that guy.

Both are dog**** and completely unreliable of course.

I don't think it's completely fair to say Malcom is terrible.... he fought some quality dudes: Albazi, Mokaev, Hadley isn't bad. This kid almost took out Durden. He's decent enough to contend right now and I think he'll be more than enough for Flick. Not as bad as the Westin Wilson ******** we just witnessed lmao.

I think Gordon is ******** enough to just shoot a takedown on flick. Hes willingly grappled with every opponent he’s had thus far in the ufc; it’s not like he really gameplans in any fight

Gordon vs. Flick
Jimmy Flick
Listen up, losers! Recently divorced and pissed off Jimmy Flick is a ticking time bomb of rage, fueled by his failed marriage and seething anger. Meanwhile, that old man Malcolm Gordon can't even make weight, showing he's as undisciplined as they come. Flick is a force to be reckoned with, and he's about to annihilate Gordon, who's just a washed-up relic living in the past. It's a no-brainer – Flick is the true Champion, and Gordon is a pathetic has-been.

Gordon vs. Flick
Jimmy Flick, SUB
On paper, Gordon can win this fight. He's got the better striking and the wrestling to make it a bad night for Flick, but he's so bad at fighting to his own strengths. Flick is vulnerable, but he's more durable than Gordon. Gordon is also not a particularly big KO threat, and has yet to demonstrate the distance control to keep himself out of grappling situations. If anything, Gordon has been too comfortable grappling from his back and initiating the clinch on the fence. Flick is a relentless submission guy, and I think Gordon will not be smart enough to keep himself from playing into Flick's strengths. Flick is basically the flyweight Dustin Hazelett, but less chinny. He can take a beating, and has generally only lost due to an accumulation of strikes. His first round KO loss to Johnson was debatably an early stoppage. He is constantly looking for subs and takedowns, and has scored nearly half of his finishes in rounds 2/3. Flick is flawed and one dimensional, but I don't expect Gordon to have the discipline to keep this a range striking battle. Gordon tends to rush in with his punches, and clashes into his opponent, usually leading to the clinch or a takedown. Weather it's Flick initiating the grappling or Gordon, I think Gordon will get drawn into a grappling battle, and Flick will find his neck. Flick by sub.
