I don't downvote that much, but when I do, I do not mean it as a compliment. Not that it matters, it's just a critique of an opinion about a sport. It's not very important.

I used to care about downvotes and upvotes when I first joined, and now I don't give a **** having determined that Tapology's down/up system is broken and meaningless. It's pretty much the only part of the site that is roughly as effective as a marzipan *****. I upvote but basically never downvote.

I think people are quick to downvote opinions they don't agree with even if they make strong points or have sound logic. I feel downvotes should be reserved for ignorant comments. So playing it safe and taking the popular opinion all the time will get you thumbs up for a popularity contest. Keep in mind Brittany Spears sold more albums than Phil Collins. Doesn't make her the better musician.

Yeah good points. I mostly only do it for the half a point I get towards my next belt.
I'll upvote everyone or downvote anyone or not vote at all just on a whim.
I find it can improve the quality of the conversation over the long run. That and baning.

@Knockout they're both **** to be fair. Collins is probably the most overrated Drummer of all time.I'm not sure what I'd hate to be stuck in an elevator more with, spears on repeat or genesis.

C'mon man. We shall never seriously compare Brittany spears and phil collin.
One wrote songs played an instrument and sang the other lipsinked and danced around half naked.
I guess maybe if that elevator had a t.v. screen in it.
