This is an interesting one. This is a real clash of styles. Pat Barry took down Lavar and almost got the Americana, and I'm expecting Struve to avenge my boy Pat. WAR STRUVE!!

This is pretty much a coin toss fight for me either Johnson knocks Struve out if it stays standing or Struve submits Johnson if it goes to the ground

I think the UFC did an amazing job with this one.Absolute best replacement for Hunt.Obviously standing Hunt>Johnson but Johnson will use Hunt's game-plan and Struve will stick to his. Also with Lavar coming off a quick win where he didn't take much punishment so its not like a one week notice where he will be lacking cardio.
Great match-up Lavar's Big hands versus Struve's slick submissions or should I say Lavar's terrible ground game versus Struve's terrible strike defense
Pumped for this one.Go get me that win Struve.

Really hard one to call. Haven't made a pick as of posting this. Both guys have the tools to win this. I think the decisive factor is going to be Struve's gameplan. If he gets it into his head to try and stand with Johnson, Johnson's fists are also going to get into his head. Struve has long limbs, but he's better at using them on the ground than he is standing.

If Struve survives the early onslaught, he can wear Johnson down, get the fight to the ground and work for a submission.

A classic striker versus grappler match. But in my eyes, I see another Barry-Struve fight coming, with Struve getting the submission win in this one.

classic striker vs grappler matchup, except the grappler's a striker...

Struve isn't SMART enough to pull guard in this fight, he's gonna go in there looking to bang and bleed. Lavar will softly tough his jaw and Struve will sleep.

Switched to Struve.  He seems to have his head in the right place at this point in his career.  He told Ariel Helwani that he's going to utilize his reach with more kicks and jabs.  And when asked what he thought of Johnson's ground game, he simply replied "Pat Barry almost submitted him."

I honestly think that this is going to be one hell of a fight. I see Struve using his reach to his advantage, and keeping Lavar's uppercuts at bay. Lavar Johnson has some serious power, and I imagine him coming out strong in the first round. I think Struve's job is to keep his distance the first round, using his jabs, and threatening with takedowns. During the later rounds I think Struve will take it via better cardio. Another thing I want to mention is that we might see Struve try to wall and stall the first round. Once a fighter starts grappling and clinching, his arms fill with blood and get tired, so that's another opportunity for Struve. The X factor in this fight is how Struve can use his reach, and whether or not he can take some shots because Lavar has pretty good accuracy and power. I just think Struve has many more ways to win, and will test Lavar's TDD in this fight.

Struve is a great kickboxer and uses his reach effectively, but if he decides to proove that he can stand and trade with Johnson it would be a huge mistake.

I just hope that Johnson doesn't KO him outright (see Nelson vs Stuve & Browne vs Struve)
