FROM FIGHT PROMOTION LEGEND FIGHTING CHAMPIONSHIP (WWW.LEGENDFC.COM):

Prior to discovering martial arts, Malaysia’s Sam “Swag” Chan was a competitive cyclist. Looking for greater challenges and competition led Chan to Muay Thai, and from there to Mixed Martial Arts. His first experience with MMA came about when he decided to enter an open-invitation tournament that took place in downtown Kuala Lumpur. Entering his first fight with no real MMA training, Chan lost a close decision and has been hooked on the sport ever since then. Although MMA is still a fairly new sport in Malaysia, Chan prides himself on being a homegrown Malay competitor with a dynamic, aggressive fighting style. His goal: to establish himself as the country’s top pound-for-pound fighter.
