Ablasi hails from Baguio City, which has been the center of the development of MMA in the Philippines. Ablasi was fascinated with martial arts from a young age, and began training as soon as he entered high school. His initial focus was in striking-based arts – primarily Wushu and Muay Thai – but his discovery of MMA led him to begin training in Brazilian Jiujitsu to round out his skill set and prepare him for competition in what he considers to be ultimate combat sport. Fiercely proud of his Filipiono heritage, Ablasi considers it a personal honor to be able to represent the Philippines at Legend and has his sights set on the Legend Bantamweight Title as the ultimate prize.
